Effects Of Not Eating All Day Long

For a guy who doesn't ever remember his dreams, I woke up with quite a shock today. It's one of those surreal dreams; where you know you're dreaming from all the batshit crazy things that are happening, and also the group of people gathered weren't the type who'd make friends with each other like, ever. Imagine Salah el Din, Einstein and Batman wearing those little birthday hats, and having tea and crumpets in the middle of a basketball court. While midgets are playing. That kind of batshit crazy.

Now just an interjection, we all have our vices, and me more than others perhaps. It has something to do with the "what's the worst that could happen" outlook I have on life. Suffice to say, I've my share of experiences with the forbidden.

Anyways, so as our very strange group of friends were cruising around in Riyadh, suddenly we felt hungry. And for some completely random and unknown reason, I got a craving for Mareez. Now I never eaten there, don't even know what they serve, but eh what the hell. We got to Mareez, and I was leaving the car I hear one of my friends saying : "He's high."

Here I woke up, mighty confused, and the remark she made was stuck in my head. It was simple remark, one not worth alot of attention. After all it's a silly dream. Everyone has silly dreams right ? Yet, the comment was here to stay.

The way it was said, the tone used, though not condescending, wasn't really pleased about it either. She knew what I was doing, she knew its effects on people and the changes it had on them, but she also knew it was my own business and never interfered in it. But the fact that it disturbed her not because of the substance involved, but of the person doing it is what made the difference. Someone genuinely cared. After that realization, the stupid smile that came over my face stayed there all day long.

Friday

"The best day on which the sun rose was a Friday: on that day, Adam was created; and on that day he entered into Paradise; and on that day, he was taken out from it."

The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), reported by Abu Hurairah

"Thus said, he turned; and Satan, bowing low,
As to superiour Spirits is wont in Heaven,
Where honour due and reverence none neglects,
Took leave, and toward the coast of earth beneath,
Down from the ecliptick, sped with hoped success,
Throws his steep flight in many an aery wheel;
Nor staid, till on Niphates' top he light"

Paradise Lost, John Milton

A Picture Is Worth...

... a thousand words, as we are often told.

"The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

"The very substance of the ambitious is merely the shadow of a dream."

"Die, v.: To stop sinning suddenly. "

"Work is the refuge of people who have nothing better to do."

"Nothing in education is so astonishing as the amount of ignorance it accumulates in the form of inert facts."

Up and Running

lol. I would love to see this played out in front of me.

Gotta love Japanese engrish and randomness.

Good evening to all whom might still be visiting this blog. Took me long enough to get back in gear and start writing something, anything down again. It's been more than a year since I graduated, and while I see the people around each going down his own road, I'm still standing still, dazed and confused as to which dark passage in front of me dare I tread on. The sands of time keep filtering down the hourglass, and yet here I am rooted down to my spot. Coming back to Rio after a very long, relaxful and all out chill summer vacation isn't really helping out much either. Got a month till uni starts up again, hopefully by then I'll get some stuff sorted out. On a diff note updates will be more frequent than a couple of months a time, so stay tuned for some random thoughts to be farted out of my brain. Oh and fuck Riyadh.

Does it make you happy you're so strange ?"
